The George Institute for Global Health

The George Institute for Global Health is a global world-class not-for-profit medical research institute. The mission of the Institute is to improve the health of millions of people worldwide, particularly underserved populations, by challenging the status quo and using innovative approaches to prevent and treat non-communicable diseases and injury.

Established in Sydney in 1999, with additional major centres in China, India and the UK, The George Institute has projects in over 50 countries, is affiliated with UNSW Sydney and Peking University Health Science Center, and works in collaboration with Imperial College London.

The George Institute leads large-scale clinical trials, epidemiological studies and health systems research to transform treatments and healthcare delivery. The Institute looks beyond single diseases, across the life course, to identify patient-centred approaches to care that can be implemented at scale, and develop low-cost, innovative solutions to global unmet needs.
