Medical Research Discoveries aims to showcase the wide range of innovative medical research happening at institutes across Australia.
The Institutes represented here employ more than 19,000 staff and higher degree students and range in size from 20 to more than 1,000 full time employees (or the equivalent of).
Together they work on areas of research from fundamental biomedical discoveries through to clinical research and the translation of research findings from bench to bedside.
Medical Research Discoveries is an initiative of the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI). Formed in 1993, AAMRI is the peak body for Medical Research Institutes in Australia. They represent medical research institutes through advocacy, information provision, relationship building and member services.
AAMRI chose to start Medical Research Discoveries to highlight the range of innovative breakthroughs that come from their members – to show everyone in one place the impressive breadth of science happening right here in Australia.
